Basic waxes and Uses – Overview

Be it any industry including cosmetic, crayon, leather, coating or candle; your requirement for purchasing the high-quality basic types of wax is both continuous and justified. With this blog, we will help you understand the different types of wax, its uses and the right place to order it. When we say common or basic wax, we are referring it to Paraffin, Microcrystalline, Vegetable and other types of wax.

Paraffin Wax

Paraffin Wax is the white, odourless wax that is produced from the saturated hydrocarbons. The wax is widely used in different industries because of its user-friendly properties. Everyone has used wax in some capacity or another.

The top products that your company can manufacture using the Paraffin wax are crayons, coatings, Lubricants, Polymer, Adhesives, Water Proofing, additive, leather and cosmetics. However, Paraffin Wax mostly used in the candle industry and it is also known as candle wax in the market because it can hold a high amount of fragrance and color. It also comes in various melting points, making it suitable for making many different types of candles, from containers to pillars.

Faith Group has been manufacturing Paraffin Wax since 1975. Being a four-decade-old company in producing Paraffin wax with BIS Certification, you can rely on us for both durability and quality. The group offers both refined and semi-refined wax that is made up of durable slack waxes available from Indian and imported Crude stocks.

Microcrystalline Wax ( MCW )

Microcrystalline Wax is produced by de-oiling petroleum and is often referred to as a result of the petroleum refining process. Because the wax contains more amount of isoparaffinic hydrocarbons and naphthenic hydrocarbons, it is quite flexible for use.

Microcrystalline wax is the best choice to produce cosmetic products, including the creams and lotions, mascara, lipstick, powder, eyeliner, etc. In the sports industry, it is used on the ice hockey sticks as an application on the friction tape. MCW is also used in food based application such as in chewing gum.

The qualities of Microcrystalline wax also make it as an appropriate choice for Hot Melt Adhesives for bookbinding, case sealing, carton sealing and container labelling needs. MCW is a very critical input in making Rubber articles such as Tyres, Belts, Blankets  Flaps etc.

At Faith Group, we help with custom formulation and modification of specification of Microcrystalline wax as per the requirement.

Vegetable Wax

Vegetable wax is the best alternative to Paraffin and other mineral hydrocarbon waxes because of its renewable, sustainable and cost-effective properties. The Vegetable wax can be the perfect source of the requirement for your cosmetic, pharmaceutical, candle, coating, polymer or polishing industry.

We at Faith Group produces different types of refined and semi-refined Vegetable waxes including the Sun Flower Wax, Rice Bran Wax, Castor Wax, Sugarcane Wax, etc. Apart from the Vegetable waxes, we also hold our expertise in producing Ceresin wax and Candelilla wax that is designed for specific applications.
